Activities and Functions The site is primarily a sporting venue, which has traditionally been used by the University of Bristol for its outdoor sporting programmes. In January 2000 the Complex was upgraded with help from the National Lottery Sports Fund and partnership funding which has meant that the Complex is now fully open to the public. The facilities include a four court indoor Tennis Centre, ten outdoor Tennis Courts, two Netball Courts, four Cricket pitches, three Rugby pitches, three Football, pitches and two floodlit artificial pitches used primarily for Hockey and, Football. The accompanying equipment list ranges from Tennis Racquets, Softball and Rounders sets, Boule (Petanque) sets, to Short Tennis, Badminton and Croquet. In other words something for everyone regardless of age or abilities. (There is even a Tug of War rope or inter-departmental challenges!). All of the above facilities and equipment are available for hire. We have tailor-made Sports Days/afternoons and evening Sporting Barbecues. As the on-site franchised caterers we are able to offer a wide variety of food and beverages to accompany the events/functions. We can provide pre-ordered hot meals, barbecues and spit roasts and we also run a food-bar/cafe service most days of the week where prices are very competitive and the food is plentiful and of high quality.
